Artistic Utah wood turner R E Anderson Wood 'n' Arts Gallery
R E Anderson is a carpenter by trade. All his life he has been surrounded by people working in wood. "My father was a farm boy from Tenn. and built many of the structures that used to be on the farm. He was always building something for my mom. If he couldn't find it, he'd make it. I guess I picked up the nack from my Pop. Thanks Pop!" All thru the 1990's, his turnings were displayed and sold @ Kimball Arts Center in Park City, Ut. Now his turnings are availible here online. No middle man. Straight from the artist himself.

I love wood! Each piece of wood is unique in unto itself, I just have to go in and find the piece that I'm turning. The shape and size of each turning is discovered as I'm turning it. It's kind of like cracking open a geode and finding what's inside. I work within the wood to find the best grain and figure for that piece. Most of my pieces are artistic and not for everyday use, other than display. It is Natures' art and I just discover it! R. Anderson

Hello Richard, 1/16/2010 Your box arrived yesterday; the bowl is a wonderful thing in terms of both craftsmanship and wood selection. Thank you very much. Best regards, Dick Lamb (Illinios) Item

Richard, 10/12/2009 Your piece came today, and I am amazed at the quality and smoothness of the bowl. The figure and grain of the wood is beautiful! Thanks so much! sincerely, Debbie Lamont (Texas) Item
At one time, I was into making toys and stuff. This is one of the cool things that I make. Called the PropFlyer... it is 100% handmade in my shop. These things are actually fun to play with. They will soar upwards of 60-80 ft when it's calm outside. And you can play catch with just the prop, close range. This is what they had back in the day before plastic everything. The prop is the hard part on these. I have to freehand on the band saw to cut the pitch of the blades. Whew...At this time, I only have about 7-8 of these left. I quit making them because they were too time consuming to make for what most people will pay.. Comes with instruction sheet and warning... is it after all, an uncovered, whirling piece of wood. Handle = oak, Prop = various hardwoods, ----------$28 ea. free shipping.

This is a design that my father passed down to me. The pics are of a stool that my late father actually cut out, but never got the chance to put together. I finished it later. It has been an intergral part of my camping equip. forever. So the pics are of a well used and tested design. It will hold upwards of approx 200 lbs. I use it around camp as a small table when sitting around the fire. I set my drink, food, matches and whatever on this thing all the time. This one is also made of aromatic cedar, which isn't the strongest of woods... but my father was into re-using and the wood was from an old cedar freestanding closet he recycled. 12" X 12" top and 16" tall when opened. I can make these out of any wood you choose or a larger size (priced accordingly). Email me with exotic choices other then what I have listed here. For the folding stool/table made of entirely hardwoods, handcrafted by me in my shop.. the price is $49 each + a $12 shipping charge - because of the shape and size. If you live close and wish to pick up locally, that can be arranged. Support local made & crafted pieces to get that old school quality made in USA...Thanks!
